Flynn Francis & Tim Metcalfe - with Robbie Williams & Lufthaus

Songwriting duo behind the Robbie Williams Album ‘Take The Crown”, and collaborators thereafter, this highly focused and creative partnership now forges new ground with Lufthaus, a dance and electronica project with Robbie through Armada Records: https://news.armadamusic.com/tags/lufthaus/.

Lukas Nelson (Now Universal Music Publishing)

Lukas writes from the heart about love, loss, our place in the World and how we might make sense of it all. In between there’s rock ‘n’ roll, a good dose of humour, the occasional “weed” reference (something to do with gardening?) but always the craft of a natural born songwriter telling us his stories and candid observations. Lukas plays with Promise Of The Real, a fabulously gifted band in their own right but also good enough for Neil Young to record with them and to take them on the road with him. If that wasn’t enough, Lukas also co-wrote several songs from the Oscar winning film ‘A Star Is Born’ featuring Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper + Lukas and his band. BAFTA also thought Lukas worthy of their award for Original Music in 2019. Oh, and his dad is Willie Nelson!

William Bell (Now Concord Music)

What can be said about William that hasn't already been said? Quite simply, very little that could further add to his status as a true soul legend. That's not to say that it's all about the past. Far from it as the 2016 album This Is Where I Live amply testifies.

Charlie Dore

A true renaissance woman, Charlie's career to date covers multiple disciplines but she indubitably shines brightest as a storytelling, picture painting songwriter of the highest order. Over the years, artists as diverse as: Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Paul Carrack, Ricky Ross, and even George Harrison have recorded her songs. She even had a UK number one hit in 1992 with the co-write: 'Ain't No Doubt' as performed by Jimmy Nail. Those who also explore her delightful body of solo work will find themselves richly rewarded.

Martina Topley-Bird

One of the most unique voices of the last 20 years or so, Martina continues to craft deceptively delicate and enigmatic songs both as a solo performer and as an in demand collaborator. Yet all is not as it often seems and the apparently sweet and light can hint at or turn to darkness in a moment, such is the intricately expressive vocal quality that she possesses.

Odetta Gordon

A lady of pure passion, conviction and grace, Odetta left this life on 2nd December 2008 leaving a remarkable body of work. Her interpretations of American folk, blues, jazz and spirituals veer from immensely powerful to heartbreakingly poignant, with every word delivered as though wrought from the depths of her soul.

An active participant in the Civil Rights Movement, she was revered not only by fellow activists and campaigners such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks and Harry Belafonte, but also had an important influence over many folk revivalists of the '60's, including: Joan Baez, Mavis Staples, Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan.

The Cult

Still going strong after more than 30 years, The Cult are natural leaders, remaining true to themselves and not the ever changing musical landscape. The central core of Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury are two of the most recognisable talents in rock, both highly distinctive and both imbued with the enviable swagger of men who were literally born to do it.

Over The Rhine

Based in rural Ohio, husband and wife duo Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist have covered a lot of musical ground in 25 years; but whether it's Jazz, Folk, Country, Blues, Americana, Holiday songs or even evoking the darkness of a Brecht & Weill underworld, their seemingly effortless, oft-understated delivery belies a finely honed craft. Swapping lead vocal duties on certain songs, Bergquist's strong but velvet smooth vocal precision is juxtaposed against Detweiler's laid back, sometimes conversational style, yet when they combine, they combine magically. www.overtherhine.com
